Slotter Dungeon Dev Log Update v0.11: Brave the Elements!


New Features

  • New symbols! No longer just the same ol' coin shield and sword... now we have different kinds of coins shields and swords!
  • These new types of symbols are prototypes of the status system on Monsters.
  • Monsters can be Poisoned, Frozen, or Burned
    • Currently, these statuses are measures by amount of stacks on the monsters
    • If poisoned, a monster will take that much damage at the beginning of their turn and lose half of the Poison stacks, rounded down
    • If a monster has freeze stacks greater than or equal to its health, it will lose a turn and the Freeze stacks will reset back to 0.
    • If a monster has burn stacks, it will deal that much less damage when it attacks and lose half of  the burn stacks.
  • Coins with status effects are still wild, making them extremely powerful
  • Please enjoy the fact that the Freeze Weapon is called the Ice-Sickle

Under the Hood

  • Improved logic for modular components; why do more code when fewer code do trick
  • Bug Fixes, the code of the past haunts the present. Making code one-size fits all is great in theory until you actually adjust the size of things. I hope you all know this is where most of my time is spent.
  • Save states are in the code, but locked until all of the variables are finalized. This is to prevent any weird errors in the future with version updates until all of the core elements are in place.

What's Coming Soon

  • More enemy types
  • Improved UI
  • An actual Menu before entering the game
  • Even more Symbol types - the Bosses should drop rare items!
  • Symbol Rot - another element of difficulty, a Reel Challenge if you will. Will discuss in a future update!
